How can I get to the island?Beach Road Weekend is held on an island – the easiest way to get to and from the festival is to stay on the island. If you are staying off-island, securing a ferry ticket ahead of time is highly suggested. The Steamship Authority, the main ferry outfit for the island, will not increase capacity to meet the demand of festival weekend. We expect that getting a spot on the post-festival departures to Falmouth or Woods Hole on the Steamships will be unpredictable at best. If it fills up, they will not send another vessel to meet excess demand. In order to overcome that uncertainty, we have secured post festival ferries to Hyannis and New Bedford. Hotels in both locations are plentiful and inexpensive, but they are nowhere near Falmouth or Woods Hole. You will be able to book reserved seats either at www.hylinecruises.com (Hyannis), or www.seastreak.com (New Bedford) respectively. If you are staying off-island, we encourage you to stay in Hyannis or New Bedford, and be sure to book ferry tickets in advance. Beach Road Weekend has a few off-island hotel packages launching this week, some of which include ferry tickets.
-
What forms of transportation are available on the island? Do you have shuttles?Check out the new and improved Beach Road Weekend Shuttle Program! HERE As for other forms of on-island transit: because the festival is located in the middle of a town, parking your own car will be difficult and is not suggested. Other forms of transportation to the festival grounds once on the island include the Vineyard Transit Authority, taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts. There is also plenty of bicycle parking if you're feeling energetic enough to bike from where you’re staying.
